  • We often seek therapy for a strained back, pulled muscle, or general weakness in our bodies—your pelvic floor deserves the same attention! This vital muscle group supports bladder and bowel function, sexual health, and supports our internal organs. If you’re preparing for birth, think of it like planning a wedding: you invest time and effort into making that day special. Your birthing experience is just as significant, and preparing your body and mind is a worthwhile investment.

  • Absolutely not! One year after giving birth, 78% of women are unable to properly contract their pelvic floor. Additionally, nine million women in the U.S. experience pelvic floor pain, and one in three women report poor bladder control postpartum. While pelvic floor issues are often not openly discussed, they are incredibly common—and you are not alone!

  • Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and a variety of options will be presented to you, ranging from internal work to external work on muscles that are directly affecting the pelvic floor's functioning. Internal and external techniques can be continued by the client between sessions to promote recovery. I use a holistic approach, assessing and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and functional implications of pelvic pain and dysfunction. I provide education, strategies, modifications, manual therapy, and exercise to address conditions that can affect us.

  • The duration of therapy depends on your individual condition and commitment to at-home exercises. Some clients notice improvements after just a few sessions, while others may continue therapy for several weeks or months to achieve optimal results.

  • I've chosen a cash based model because it allows me to focus entirely on what's best for you, without the constraints and frustrations of insurance. This gives us the flexibility to prioritize your goals and needs, ensuring a more personalized and client-centered experience.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. There is no specific dress code—just something you feel at ease in.

  • Yes, you can see a pelvic floor therapist while on your period. You have the option to choose what type of therapy you're receiving based on your comfort level. We may even be able to help alleviate any discomfort you may be experiencing while on your period.
